5:02 pm — Holmen’s Sam Schank ended Sparta’s win streak of four matches by defeating Tristan Zurlufh 6-4. Sparta now leads 25-12.
4:56 pm — Sparta keeps winning the close ones and this was a big one. Brock Polhamus won 4-3 over Darius Wright who came into the dual ranked 11th in division one according to Wisconsin Wrestling Online. Sparta now leads 25-9;
4:47 pm — Dylan Winchel won Sparta’s second overtime match of the day at 106 pounds by a 2-1 score and John Roddick won his match at 113 by decision to push Sparta’s lead to 21-9.
4:31 pm — Chris Beeler picked up a huge victory at 285 to push the Spartans’ lead to 15-9 through the halfway point of the dual. Beeler won 2-1 in overtime and Holmen was docked a team point for unsportsmanlike conduct. Other results from the first seven matches are below…
