The match put Sparta’s dual record at 15-3 on the year and 4-1 in MVC action. Sparta returns to the mat this Tuesday at Onalaska. Check back today for a special "Do You Rememebr" post.
Yes I see that Sparta is ranked above Tomah in the state team rankings. I have watched both teams wrestle all year and see weaknesses in both teams. Im sorry to inform you but Tomah does have a better team, tournament and individual. Tomah has suffered one loss to Wasusa West which is ranked in the top three! As you can see Sparta will have to do some great things to make it to the state tournament. But sad to say neither team can stand next to WI Rapids again this year!! Good luck and GO SPARTANS!!
Well PSE this is why they settle the rankings on the mat. Sparta and Tomah will battle over the next two weekends and the winner will advance toward the State Team Championships. Any team even Wisconsin Rapids can be beat. It all depends on the individual match ups and the desire of each wrestler.
Sparta Wrestlers have excelled all year long and are on a roll. If they get by Tomah and advance to the State Team Tournament they will give W. Rapids everything they want. See you there!

Sparta will be seeking vengeance for the botched official call in 2000 that cost Sparta the conference championship. Tomah has it coming and Sparta will be more than willing to take Tomah to the cleaners.
