If the number of wrestlers Sparta sends to the youth state wrestling tournament is any indicator, the future of Sparta wrestling is strong. Sparta will be sending 15 wrestlers to next weekend’s youth state wrestling tournament in Madison beginning on Saturday, March 28th. Those wrestlers include Corbin Hauser, Keaton Hauser, Brock Connelly, Carter Vieth, Tye Klass, Hayden Brueggeman, Cole Wisniewski, Madden Connelly, Brendan Burke, Brett Von Ruden, Vince Polhamus, Jon Bailey, David Hayes, Mathias Krein and Hayden Krein. The list of 15 includes ELEVEN champions.
Most of the kids competed at the Westby qualifier, but a few traveled to Mineral Point for that qualifier. We will have periodic updates throughout the day on Saturday so be sure to check the website and Sparta Wrestling’s Facebook page for updates on how are Spartans are doing.
