The La Crosse Tribune ran a story yesterday about Matt Tourdot and his transition from high school to wrestling varsity at Old Dominion. It’s worth the few minutes to read. The article talks about the a decision he made that could have been the difference between wrestling at Old Dominion or somewhere else.
At one point, he decided that he’d rather come home than complete a run through his 215-pound bracket.
“That’s where they saw me,” Tourdot, who went on to place sixth and earn All-American status, said of Old Dominion coaches. “If I had left, I have no idea where I’d be right now.”
The way it’s turning out, that means he’d be missing out on the chance of a lifetime.
