Tomah found itself back in the State Team Tournament Tuesday night after defeating DeForest 38-23. The Timberwolves won 8 of 14 matches including two by two points or less. The match of the night may have been the first match of the night. Starting off at 285, Tomah’s John Van Gundy (36-7) took down DeForest’s Richard Skaife (35-10) in a 7-6 double overtime victory. While it was the closest match, it also might been the slowest match of the night. Each earned an escape during the match leading to a 5-5 tie heading into overtime.
