Sparta’s junior varsity squad sent 25 wrestlers to the Melrose-Mindoro/GET JV invite on Friday and saw 15 of them finish in first or second place. Coming in first for the Spartans were Corey Bronner, Steven Kelly, Jacob Denton, Julius Julson, Dillon Erickson and Kyle Burkhalter.
Nine Spartan wrestlers finished second including Matt Arnold, Robert Ragan, Greg Skon, Daniel Dawley, Dalton Hanson, Zach Denton, Ben Schaitel, Tanner Smith and Michael Beeler.
Each Spartan wrestled three times on the day. Sparta led all teams with 24 pins followed by Holmen with 22, La Crosse Central with 14 and Onalaska Luther with 11.
