Sparta cruised to a 76-6 thumping of Onalaska Thursday evening in Onalaska. The Spartans won 13 of 14 matches including five by forfeit and seven by pin. The only match of the night that didn’t go the Spartans’ way was Andy Amundson’s pin of Greg Skon at 160. Otherwise it was all Spartans, all night.

With the win, the Spartans improve to 4-0 in the MVC and 13-2 overall. The Spartans will now prepare for their own invite Saturday at the high school. Due to leaked pipes destroying the floor of the old gym at Sparta High, the entire tournament will be run in the new gym and only one break will happen throughout the day. The constant action will be needed to compensate for the loss of the old gym, which accommodated two mats.
