Sparta continues to hold down the fifth ranking in the latest Wisconsin Wrestling Online poll. Luxembourg-Casco remains the top team followed by Ellsworth, Two Rivers and Oconto Falls. Regional foes West Salem/Bangor and Neillsville/Greenwood/Loyal are ranked 9th and 10th while section rival Lodi remains at 9th.
The Spartans have six wrestlers ranked. After his dominating performance at the Badger State Invite, Spartan 113-pounder Dylan Winchel returns to the rankings a week after dropping out after having not wrestled the first month of the season. Winchel is currently 2nd at 113 pounds behind St. Croix Falls’ Drew Wheeler. Here is how the rest of the Spartans stack up.
- John Roddick, 4th at 12o pounds, eown one from last ranking, Roddick and Nekoosa/Port Edwards’ Sam Tuttle swapped rankings.
- Brock Polhamus, 9th at 132 pounds, moved up from last week where Polhamus was an honorable mention
- Michael Murnane, 10th at 145 pounds, down three spots from last week
- Kyle Burkhalter, 5th at 182 pounds, no change from last week
- Daniel Dawley, 10th at 195 pounds, down one from last week

- Holmen – Darius Wright 4th at 132 pounds, Ryan Stalsberg 4th at 138 pounds, Tyler Westphal honorable mention at 170 pounds, Duncan McKinney 15th at 182 pounds, Noah Risch 14th at 195 pounds, Charles Serauskas honorable mention at 220 pounds, Hunter Hauser 4th at 285 pounds
- Tomah – Jacob Duborb honorable mention at 160 pounds, Lucas Stromberg-Windau 4th at 220 pounds
- Aquinas – Nick Burns 4th at 106 pounds, Jordan Corcoran 3rd at 126 pounds
- La Crosse Central – Josh Kuhse, 14th at 106 pounds, Ben Thornton 1st at 120 pounds
Holmen remains 4th in division one while La Crosse Aquinas appears as an honorable mention in division three. Check back here early next week for a preview of the Cheesehead tournament the Spartans will wrestle at January 4th and 5th.
