Sparta’s win over the Hilltoppers was their first dual victory of the year as they improve to 1-0 in the MVC and 1-1 overall.
It was a short night for the Spartans, but that’s probably not a bad thing since they have a quick turnaround at the Badger State Invite on Saturday. Lots of tough teams and individuals await the Spartans. Ranked teams include Freedom (7th, D2), Mineral Point (3rd, D3), Pewaukee (8th, D1), River Valley (4th, D2), Sparta (12th, D1), Stoughton (3rd, D1), Two Rivers (6th, D2) and Wisconsin Lutheran (11th, D2).
Last year the Spartans placed 5th with Jaden Winchel and Brock Polhamus earning championships.
