It was an exciting night in Sparta as the Spartans roared out to a huge lead and held on to win an important MVC match. There were key matches all night long and no one match could be considered bigger than another. For the Spartans Brandon Brueggen got things rolling with a hard fought match and final takedown to win 4-2. Matt Tourdot followed with an impressive win over a tough Jordan Coryell (state qualifier last year). Key pins from Kevin Schmitz, Adam Wiedl, Toby Mosley and a major decision from Derek McDonald were all key.
If you had a chance to follow the live blog of Thursday's match let us know how it went and if you will be tuning in again.
The Spartans now head to West Allis. The West Allis Tournament has been cancelled for Friday but will be wrestled in its entirety on Saturday. follow all the action on www.trackwrestling.com

Nice work Sparta! I remember back in ’03 when we beat Holmen in what was a nail biter and went on to win the conference. Hope the same thing happens to this Sparta team! Good luck to all at West Allis (tough tournament)!
