Sparta 81 – Onalaska 0

No, the score above is correct.  Sparta swept Onalaska on Senior Night and fell three points shy of the maximum possible score in a dominating 81-0 victory over the Hilltoppers Thursday evening.  Sparta used 7 pins to go along with 6 forfeits en route to their most lopsided, highest scoring dual in team history and they did it against their former coach Lyle Blum in the process. 

The only "blemish" on the night was Seth Harelson’s inability to pin his opponent at 171 pounds, but he did take down one of their more solid wrestlers with an 11-5 victory.  Full results are below…

The win pushes Sparta’s dual record on the year to 10-3 and 5-0 in conference.  Everything has played out how Sparta hoped in the runup to Tuesday’s showdown with Tomah.  The Timberwolves are also undefeated in the MVC and Tuesday’s matchup in Tomah will determine this year’s conference champion.  It looks to be a close match.  Check back here this weekend for a weight by weight scouting report.
