Six Champs for Spartans at Wisconsin Challenge Series Regional

The Wisconsin Wrestling Challenge Series is a junior varsity or varsity reserve level tournament with eight regional tournaments across the state.  At each regional tournament, the top three finishers qualify for the challenge finals at Wausau West on Saturday, January 24th.  The brackets at Wausau West will consist of 24 wrestlers with the champions of each qualifier receiving a first round bye.

Sparta sent 19 wrestlers to the Mineral Point regional and saw six champions and 14 finals qualifiers.  Champions included Corey Zimmerman, Sam Forbes, Collin Gartner, Brady Hansen, Austin Zweifel and Devon Smith.  Joining these champions in Wausau will be Russell Winchel, Mathias Krein, Andrew Rickey, Ashley Dahl, Justin Marx, James Gann and Keyshawn Stewart.  Congrats to these wrestlers on qualifying for the finals in Wausau in two weeks.  Full results are below…
