An interesting call in the Minnesota vs. Ohio State match last Sunday. A good move by the Ohio State wrestler, but was it a pin?

I like Coach Smith and how he assesses a win and coaches his teams. It isn’t always how you win but weather you win or not. Ugly wins are still wins. You can watch his team defeat #1 Iowa on the Big Ten Network tonight at 7:00 PM. (He gave his team a C- for their performance….) Also some good references for our team has they head into an important dual with Holmen Jan. 19.

Hey Mont read Steve’s book twice now and had a good give and take with him.. Want to see in the next addition a ‘little more on heavy’s ” and also that in high school a heavy should work out around the year with a grappler 100 pounds less with speed etc. Like he and some heavy did back in the days.
Man, I strongly recommend any and all parents who see wrestling for their son/daughter as their sport get the book.
Real nice article in the Trib on Matt. Hope for a great 4 yrs and who knows +
As always health and happiness.

side note,, like the comments with Brian and Derek,, as with all who contribute to the success of a wrestling program.. I remember Zurf getting the UWL wrestlers to come in as assistants and then during the Bi-State time frame having a myriad of past Spartans and UWL again come in to work really hard but fair.
Also remember your Mom and Dad allowing Terry to ‘room and board” with them so he could work out with Harry…. Total positive community direction in coordination with Coaches directing allows for success.
