One of Sparta's big obstacles to the state team tournament and for wrestlers at the lower weight classes was Keegan and Kasey Einerson of Lodi. The two twins, both freshman last year, combined to go 90-9 last year as freshman and placed first and sixth respectively in the Division Two state tournament. However, the two are moving to Wisconsin Rapids so their father wouldn't have to make a three-hour round trip trek to work from Lodi to Nekoosa every day.
So what does this mean for Sparta? Well it can't hurt Sparta when one of the top teams between them and a spot in the Division Two state team tournament loses a state champion and a state placewinner. Lodi is a team that comes loaded year after year and I have no doubt the guys stepping in to replace the Einersons are going to be tough, but it's a boon for the Spartans. In a case like this I'd rather have the kids lost to graduation as moving is always tough, but it is what it is.
