Dual Results

The Spartans have been practicing hard in the wrestling room preparing for their upcoming tournament in Harrisonville, MO. Wrestlers making the trip to Harrisonville will be guaranteed 10 matches so it’s a good chance to get a lot of wrestling in whereas in other tournaments, a couple losses will end your day.

Before the Spartans travel to Missouri, they wrestled Weston/Ithaca for the second time in a week and the results weren’t much different. After defeating Weston/Ithaca 44-27 at the Reedsburg Dual Tournament, Sparta followed that up with a 44-25 victory in Ithaca.  In what was supposed to be one of the matches of the night, Tristan Zurfluh pounded Nick Bennett. Last year, Zurfluh defeated Bennett at the buzzer while Bennett exacted some revenge with a 12-10 decision in Reedsburg. On Friday, it was all Zurfluh in a dominant 12-1 victory for Sparta’s 126-pounder.  Full results are below…

If you’ve been paying close attention to how Sparta’s wrestlers are doing, you would have noticed Chris Beeler and his remarkable start. Beeler is 7-0 with six pins and the other victory coming via forfeit. Not a bad way to start the year.

Back on December 1st, the Spartan JV squad wrestled Blair-Taylor and won 39-33. Below are the results from that dual…
