Sparta went 4-1 on the day at the Weyauwega-Freemont Dual Invitational improving their overall record in duals to 10-2 on the season. Oconto Falls won the tournament going 5-0 on the day.
Sparta 38 – Waupaca 30
Sparta 48 – Chilton 30
Sparta 52 – Wayauewega-Freemont 21
Oconto Falls 42 – Sparta 25
Sparta 68 – Stratford 12
On the day, the Spartans had the following records:
103 – Derek McDonald 3-2
112 – Adam Simpson – 4-1
119 – Aaron Kast – 2-3
125 – Dylan Amundson – 3-2
130 – Matt Tourdot – 4-1
135 – Jordan Stanek 0-5
140 – Cody Olson – 2-3
152 – Jared Rickert – 5-0
160 – Jeff Dolan – 4-1
171 – Steven Stevenson – 2-3
189 – Trevor Hutson – 5-0
215 – Quincy Degenhardt – 3-2
285 – Kevin Schmitz – 5-0
A very controversial call against Matt Tourdot where a takedown earned by Tourdot as time expired was awarded to the other wrestler cost him a chance to go 5-0 on the day and 12-0 overall on the year.
Highlights on the day included Spartan senior Jeff Dolan surpassing 100-win mark for his career. Dolan accomplished the feat during his second match of the day against Chilton.
The 125# wrestler should read Jesse Amundson and not Dylan. The record should be 1-4 instead of 3-2. You do a great job with this site ! I only wish we would get better coverage from our local paper. All other sports have good coverage for Varsity and JV alike. Coverage for wrestling is poor for the Varsity and non-existent for the JV’s.
Pat, your right on the money! The Sparta Wrestling Team has been one of the most succesful athletic programs in the last 10 to 15 years! Why the local newspaper chooses to ignore it beats me. Maybe a call to the sports editor and give him free tickets to matches so he or she can write on what they see.

i think there is an error on the current individual records for west allis, you added there records for west allis on their total record twice, no big deal just trying to help out. great page though, great to see it back up and running
