According to the 2000 senior yearbook…
Sparta wrestlers have a long-standing tradition of out-working their opponents. This year that was apparent from the first day of practice until the final competitions of the year. Sparta wrestlers face ominous opponents, but due to their strong persistence and conditioning they came out victorious. The wins each wrestler earned were paid for with hard work. With each loss suffered, we knew that our athletes gave us their best possible effort.
