The low-down on Lodi

Lodi won their regional with 233.5 points, which was 59.5 points better than runner-up Lakeside Lutheran.  Last year they defeated the Spartans 31-25 in the opening-round of team sectionals.  Here is what Lodi brings to the table at each weight class.

• 5th at Marty Loy Classic
• In last year’s dual, Bryce Nowaczyk defeated Joutras  4-2
• Austin McCartney defeated Dylan Winchel 10-3 Saturday at regionals.  Joutras defeated McCartney 4-3 at the Marty Loy Classic earlier this year.

• In last year’s dual, Michael Clapper caught Adam Wiedl and pinned him in 47 seconds

• In last year’s dual, Toby Mosley defeated Shimshak 9-6

• 3rd Place at Regionals
• Jesse Sheldon (Viroqua) defeated Worthing 11-2 at the Westby Norsemen Duals earlier this year.  Morgan Leis defeated Sheldon 15-3 Saturday at regionals.

160  –  Jesse Ziegler (32-4), Bryce Ziegler

• 1st Place at Regionals
• In last year’s dual, Morgan Leis defeated Jesse Ziegler 4-3
• Jesse Ziegler moved up to 171 pounds for the at Marty Loy Classic and placed 5th
• Bryce Ziegler wrestled at 160 for the at Marty Loy Classic, but did not place

• Kealty defeated Darren Johnson (Viroqua) by pin in 4:38 at the Westby Norseman Duals earlier this  year.  Burkhalter also pinned Johnson in 1:59 Saturday at regionals.

• 2nd Place at Regionals
• In last year’s dual, Tom Tourdot defeated Watters 5-4
• Watters wrestled at this weight at the at Marty Loy Classic and finished 7th

• 4th Place at Regionals
• Maerz defeated Carl Fortney (Viroqua) by a 7-0 score at the Westby Nosermen Duals earlier this year.  Ben Schaitel defeated Fortney 8-0 at regionals on Saturday.

• 3rd Place at Regionals
• Taylor Henry (Viroqua) pinned Steuck in 31 seconds at the Westby Norseman Duals earlier this year.  Chris Beeler has lost twice to Henry this year including an 8-2 loss this past weekend at regionals and by pin in 4:47 earlier this season in Lancaster.
