A combination of sickness and off-days led to Sparta’s 5th place finish at the La Crescent Dual Invitaitonal today. Sparta went 2-1 on the day to improve their dual record on the year to 14-3 overall (3-1 MVC). Spartans Jared Rickert, Jeff Dolan, Michael Jacobsen and Trevor Hutson all went 3-0 on the day to lead Sparta. You can find complete results below:

Sparta now takes a much-needed two week break before returning to action Saturday, January 20 for the Spartan Invitational. Action begins at the high school at 10 a.m. The Spartan Invite will be the first of three tournaments the Spartans will host as the season carries on. Sparta also hosts the MVC/Coulee Tournament and Regionals.
